Elsie M Ryder

Elsie Marie Ryder of Middletown, NY, entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 6, 2018 at age 90. Elsie was the daughter of Edward and Edna Walters and the wife of Daniel Paul Ryder. She was educated in the Middletown and Goshen schools and was retired from Orange Bank and Trust as a credit/collections specialist. Elsie leaves behind to remember her with love, daughter, Sharon Perna, beloved grandchildren, Michael Zovistoski (Sarah), Anthony Bryk (Melissa), Julie Zovistoski Mooney (Dwight), Kate Perna (Kevin Longacre). Also surviving are her cherished seven great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and three very special nephews, Nick, Vincent and Gerald Salamone and their respective families. Her extended families include Kay and Michael Perna, the Liborio family and friend, Mary. Elsie was fond of her many friends, neighbors and coworkers who will undoubtedly mourn her passing. Today, Elsie rests in peace reunited with her parents, her husband, her dearly beloved daughter, Janice Bryk, her sister, Alberta Salamone, sons- in- law, Thomas Perna and Joseph Bryk. Elsie was the child of a farmer and always loved the outdoors and all animals, especially dogs and horses. She loved nature, both the untamed wild and the flowers in her garden. A picnic along the water’s edge was one of her favorite events; she loved boating and water skiing in her younger days. Elsie also enjoyed any time spent with her family, reading, crosswords, crocheting, a delicious glass of wine, Italian food, the Yankees and a spirited debate! And photographs! She loved to take them and receive them from her family filling her walls and scrapbooks; her most cherished possessions. To her daughters, Elsie passed on her great strength, fierce independence and her stubborn determination for which we are ever grateful; thank you, Mommy. We love you forever; rest now. A special Thank You is extended to the staff of Valley View Nursing Facility. The Nursing and Rehab staff will never be forgotten; their jobs are not easy but every day they treated Mommy with loving care, patience and kindness. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 20, 11:00 AM at the Morse Funeral Home Inc., 33 Railroad Avenue, Middletown. Cremains to be interred at the Phillipsburg Cemetary privately by her family. Memorial donations may be made to St. Judes Children’s Hospital.
