Donald Donnie Massaro

Donald "Donnie" Massaro of Middletown, New York entered into rest on the 1st day of February 2018 at Orange Regional Medical Center in Town of Wallkill, New York, surrounded by his loving family. He was 89 years young. The son of the late Peter Massaro and Frances Spinelli Massaro, Donnie was born on February 26, 1928 in Middletown, New York. He attended Middletown Schools, and was a long time resident of Middletown. He was employed for 25 years at Bright Chair located in Middletown, New York. Donnie was an avid bicycle rider until the age of 75, and enjoyed being in the outdoors. He lived his life to the fullest, and his family meant everything to him. His daughter, his grandchildren and great grandchildren were the center of his life. Donnie served in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1946 and in the U.S. Army from 1947 to 1948. He will be greatly missed by his only daughter, Frances Sorrentino, who took such good care of Donnie since the passing of his wife, Vincenzina Massaro, in 2004. The passing of Donnie will leave a hole in his daughter's heart that could never be filled. He will always be in her thoughts and prayers forever. Her love for him is unending. The family will miss the family gatherings that they always had and enjoyed immensely. Donnie will also be missed by his grandchildren and great grandchildren who were the center of his life. Donnie is survived by his loving and dedicated daughter, Frances Sorrentino, his grandchildren, Donnie Robinholt and spouse Wendy, and Mark Robinholt and spouse Michele and loving great children, Catarina Robinholt, Alex Malfatone and Mason Robinholt. Donnie was predeceased by his loving wife of 56 years, Vincenzina Massaro. Mio caro padro tiamo, per sempre tua cara figlia Francesca. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Morse Funeral Home Inc., 33 Railroad Avenue, Middletown, New York. A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following the viewing at St. Joseph Church, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown, New York at 11:00AM.. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of ones choice.
