Our broken hearts announce the tragic passing of our son, brother, grandson, nephew & friend, Jack Parker Braun. Born January 9, 2007, to parents Paul & Erin, & siblings Hannah, Alison & Peter, Jack completed the Braun family with an exclamation point! Born an ‘old soul’, Jack was passionate about history, film & music. A senior at Minisink Valley, Jack’s future plans included attending Hunter College to study History and ultimately becoming a teacher. A modern-day renaissance man, if Jack was interested in something, he would immerse himself into it - he read, studied, watched, learned, and tried it - no was never an option in his mind. Jack has always been, & will continue to be, the bravest & strongest boy we will ever know ~ our very own Super Hero. Left to cherish Jack’s memory are his parents, Paul & Erin; siblings Hannah, Alison & Peter; Maternal grandmother (Mimi) Judith Hazen; Paternal grandmother (Nana) Diane Braun; Aunts & Uncles, Michele & Ken Mecking, Heidi & Charles Nyland; Cousins, Matthew Mecking (Catherine & family), Ayden Nyland, Travis Mecking & Ella Nyland: endless extended family members & many, many friends. Predeceased by his maternal grandfather Sean T. Cunningham (G’pa), paternal grandfather Richard Braun, & cousin Emily Mecking ~ Jack was welcomed into Heaven by their loving arms. There is no doubt Jack was saluted by the many historical figures that he greatly admired & enjoyed studying. May Jack’s life be celebrated by the beautiful way he lived it, and may his passing be not in vain. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Martinez Morse Funeral Home, 33 Railroad Ave. Middletown, NY, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Holy Name of Jesus Christ, 45 Highland Ave, Otisville, NY, at 11:00 am.
