Kelly Noreen Toohey

Kelly N. Toohey was born on October 23, 1965, in Dover, NJ. to Tom and Linda Toohey. Kelly passed away on March 12, 2022, at her home in upstate New York. Kelly grew up in Dover, NJ and her keen eye for detail combined with her sharp, analytical mind, propelled her into a career that resulted in her serving as the Chief Financial Officer for the Town of Dover. She retired from her CFO position in 2020. Kelly lived a life of curiosity and service to others. She dedicated many hours to charitable events that were meaningful to her life. Kelly loved to learn new things and loved to travel and explore the world. Her travels spanned many states, and several countries. She has hiked in the Rocky Mountains, rode horseback in the New Mexican desert, kayaked in Chesapeake Bay, drove around the rolling hills of Ireland, and toured through Italy. Everywhere she went, she found amazing foods to savor and interesting people to add to her memories. It is this openness to the wonders in this world that led Kelly to the love of her life: her husband David Barth. David’s zest for life, love of outdoors, and easy-going attitude brought a perfect balance to Kelly’s world. Together they made their home in NY State, where Kelly helped design, build, and meticulously plan out their house exactly as she wanted. During her retirement, Kelly was able to enjoy their beautiful home while pursuing two of her lifelong passions: cooking and canines. She loved cooking and spent much time figuring out and being creative with recipes. Kelly had several dogs in her life, but her pride and joy was her little wiener dog Gottlieb that she and Dave adopted in spring of 2020. Anyone fortunate enough to know Kelly can attest to the intelligence and determination she possessed. With family and friends alike, she loved to laugh and celebrate. Kelly will be deeply missed by those she touched, those who love her, those who will honor her memory the rest of their days. She is survived by her father Tom Toohey, her husband David Barth, and her brother Tommy Toohey. She was predeceased by her mother Linda Toohey.
