Patricia Ann Teixeira

Patricia Ann Teixeira, affectionately known to many as Gay-Gay, passed away unexpectedly on June 19, 2025, in Middletown, NY, at the age of 69. Born to Virginia Marie Teixeira and Joaquin Diaz Teixeira in Spanish Harlem, NY, Patricia's life was a tapestry of love, resilience, and transformation, leaving a lasting legacy for all who knew her. Early in her life, Patricia discovered her passion for caregiving as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She was incredibly proud of her role in caring for others, embodying compassion and empathy every day. Her nurturing spirit was a guiding light to those around her, and she never hesitated to give her last to ensure the well-being of others. In her later years, Patricia brought joy to the community as a greeter at The Mulberry House Senior Center. Her warmth and humor brightened the days of all who crossed her path. Her greatest joy was her family—especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren—and she found delight in simple pleasures such as family trips to the casino with her sisters, her favorite novela shows, and playing her "Numbers" in the lotto. Patricia found immense joy and strength in her spiritual journey as an avid student of the Bible. Passionate about her faith in God, Jehovah, she often spoke of the blessings she received and credited Jehovah's guidance through challenging times. Studying to become a Jehovah’s Witness, Patricia demonstrated remarkable commitment to her studies and prayer life, praying fervently for everything, especially her children, grandchildren, and her beloved "Pappo" Eduardo. Her Bible study teacher admired her persistence in prayer. Those who knew Patricia are confident that she is in Jehovah's book of remembrance and look forward to her resurrection in future paradise. Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Virginia Marie Teixeira and Joaquin Diaz Teixeira, as well as her dear brothers, Antonio Diaz Teixeira and Samuel Dieago Teixeira. She is survived by her devoted husband, Eduardo Caraballo, and her cherished children: Julio Rivera Teixeria, Jessica Lee Teixeria-Martinez and her husband Andres Martinez, Stephanie Etienne, Nino Etienne, and Navana Lee Teixeira. Her treasured grandchildren—Brandon Rivera, Samantha Delgado, Janessa Heredia, Nicaletta Etienne, Nyla Rose Etienne, Jermaine Jaehaerys, and Nalia Lee—held a special place in her heart, as did her beloved great-grandchildren, Elaynah Rivera and Kaylianys Rivera. Patricia also leaves behind many dear nieces and nephews, as well as her loving sisters, Mary Ann Arroyo and Jacquline Teixeira and Jacquline's husband, Raymond Irizarry Sr. Her family invites those who wish to pay their respects to share in this celebration of a life beautifully lived. Floral tributes are welcome as we honor Patricia's generous spirit and vibrant life. Patricia's life was a testament to love, forgiveness, and generosity. Her legacy of dedication continues to touch those who were blessed to know her. Her memory will forever illuminate our hearts, inspiring us to live by her example: to love unconditionally, to forgive without judgment, and to give selflessly.
