Arthur F. Pingel

The son of the late Herman and Alice Eckhardt Pingel, Arthur "Art" Pingel, 74, passed away suddenly on May 22nd, 2016 at home. He was born July 23rd, 1941 in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Tyler Hill Pennsylvania. After graduating from Damascus High School at the age of 16, he attended Penn State University and later enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was stationed in Morocco, Africa as a communications specialist. In his civilian life, he was formerly National Sales manager for the Rank organization. He and his wife Marilyn "Kay" (the former Ms. Broeren of Walnut Illinois) owned and operated Warwick Valley Feed and Grain for 20+ years. They recently on May 9th celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary. Arthur and Kay are the proud parents of daughter Kimberly Lennard, married to husband Ian of Park Slope, Brooklyn, NY, and son Bradley and wife Melissa Pingel of Clifton Park, NY. His greatest joy was his grandchildren Ryan, Alexandra, Daniel, Alex, Michael, Alisha, and great grand child Collin Timothy. Art is survived by his brother Richard, wife Renee, and their son Erik of Cheyenne, Wy, and his cousin Frederick and wife Barbara of Atco, Pennsylvania. He was predeceased by his brother Airforce Captain, Robert Pingel. Art's wish was to be cremated. A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday evening May 26th at the Morse Funeral Home, 33 Railroad Avenue, Middletown, NY from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a service at 8PM. Burial of ashes will be held on Friday, May 27th, at 11:00 a.m. with the procession starting from Morse Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m., concluding at Orange County Veterans Cemetary, located at 111 Craigville Road, Goshen, NY 10924, with Honor Guard ceremony. The Patriot Guard will be standing watch at the funeral home and cemetery. Following the funeral, all friends and family are invited to gather at the American Legion Post 151 at 185 Wawayanda Avenue, Middletown, NY, where we can all laugh and cry, eat and drink, sharing our favorite memories of "Art", "Love" "Dad" "Pop" "PoPala" "Grampa". In lieu of flowers, Art would have preferred donations be made to the Air Warrior Courage Foundation (airwarriorcourage.com) or in honor of his grandson, to the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation (diabetesresearch.org). Arrangements under the care of Louis W. Morse and Thomas A. Murray of the Morse Funeral Home.
