Altagracia "Tatica" Cordero

In Loving Memory of a Remarkable Woman With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Abuela, Altagracia "Tatica" Cordero, who, at the age of 95, went home to be with our Lord on Sunday, October 1, 2023. Born and raised in the Dominican Republic, she was the daughter of Miguel Cordero and Rosa Elia Castro. She would later follow her family to the United States. Altagracia was a diligent and hardworking factory worker on Prince St. in Manhattan, specializing in producing electronic airplane parts. She worked tirelessly, often taking on overtime hours to provide for her beloved family. Her sacrifices and resilience will forever be etched in our hearts. Her unwavering faith was a guiding light in her life. She was an active member of Holy Family Church in the Bronx for many years. Altagracia exemplified her commitment to God through her actions and words, profoundly impacting those around her everywhere. Altagracia will be remembered as a kind, patient, and compassionate soul whose warm embrace and caring nature comforted all who knew her. She held a special place in her heart for family gatherings, where her cooking talents shone for so many years, and her role as a dedicated caretaker for everyone was evident throughout her years. Altagracia will forever be cherished in the hearts of her surviving daughter, Rosemarie Martinez, and her husband, Humberto Almanzar, and her daughters-in-law Ada & Australia Martinez. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion through her surviving grandchildren: Scottie (Jen), Tony, Guillermo (Karina), Wendy(Wilson), Christopher (Raquel), Corissa (Wally), Jan (Josefina), Yasser (Masfalda), Persis (Walter), Bianca (Eddie), Mariah, and Michael; her great-grandchildren: Precious, Diego, Taina, Jolina, Jason, Euro, Samantha, Mariano, Maximus, Valentina, Gabriel, Viviana, Guillermo Andres, Pablo Guillermo, Ethan, Isabella, Renata, Nicolas, and Santos; and her great-great-grandchildren Kyng, Kali, and Kai. Altagracia was greeted at heaven's gate by her children: Rosa Ángela Cordero, Jose Fernando Martinez, Jose Miguel Martinez, Guillermo Martinez, and her granddaughter, Yarnell Martinez. We invite friends and family to join our family in honoring her memory on Monday, October 9, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Martinez-Morse Funeral Home, 33 Railroad Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A funeral mass celebrating Altagracia's life will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at 10:45 a.m. at Saint Joseph's Church on 113 Cottage Avenue in Middletown. After mass, a procession will accompany her to her final resting place at Saint Raymond's Cemetery (1:30 p.m.). In her passing, Altagracia leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of love that will continue to inspire us all. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
