Bonnie Lee Lynch

Bonnie Lee Lynch of Middletown, NY entered into rest on March 23, 2026, at Garnet Medical Center. She was 74 years old. Born on May 3, 1951, to Ralph and Kathleen Sawyer, she spent her childhood years with her siblings and relatives on the family corn farm in Goshen, NY. After graduating from Goshen High School, Bonnie moved to Washington, DC where she briefly worked as a secretary for the FBI. She then returned to Goshen and worked as an administrative assistant for many service organizations such as the Orange County Health Department and the Goshen Library. She would eventually meet her future husband through a family member. They wed almost 54 years ago on May 6, 1972, and started to grow their family. As a parent she loved taking her children back to Washington D.C. during spring vacations to visit the monuments and museums and to take in the beauty of the Cherry Blossoms. While Bonnie had many accomplishments in her life, her inner joy and purpose came from the 50 years she spent as a mother and grandmother. She had a love for travel and found joy in going on cruises with her best friend, Patty DeJong, and traveled to many beautiful places such as Hawaii and Ireland. As amazing as these places were, Bonnie was never happier than when she was with her family. While she loved her children, she lived for her grandchildren. Her favorite moments were spent with them checking out lighthouses in Maine and the beaches of Ocean City, Maryland. An avid reader, Bonnie enjoyed all kinds of books but especially loved Clive Cussler books. Her other hobbies included gardening and bird watching and she felt peace looking at the moon and stars. Bonnie also loved to bake desserts and treats for her family and friends, especially around the holidays. She loved movies too, her favorite being The Wizard of Oz. Bonnie is survived by her husband, Cyril Lynch, her son, Dan Lynch and his wife, Jenn, her daughter, Lori Eddy and her husband, Tim, grandchildren, Skye and T.J. Eddy and Jacob Lynch, her brother, Ray Sawyer and his wife, Kathy, sister, Eileen Lake, niece Kelly Nixon and her husband, Jamie, nephew Kevin Lake and great niece, Hailey Lake. Bonnie will be deeply missed by all who have had the chance to know and love her. They will all cherish her memory and hold her close to their hearts forever. She will be remembered always with love, gratitude, and affection. To all who grieve, may comfort be found in shared memories and in the knowledge that a singular light, though gone from our sight, continues to shine in the stories we tell, in the lives we touch, and in the hearts that remain. “And remember, my sentimental friend, that a heart is not judged by how many people you love, but by how much you are loved by others.” — The Wizard (Wizard of Oz) A private family celebration of life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations in Bonnie’s name may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
