EDITH M. SMITH May 22, 2016 Pine Bush, NY Edith M. Smith, a longtime resident of Pine Bush, passed away on May 22, 2016 at Park Manor Nursing Home. She was 109 years old. Edith was a member of the Pine Bush Community for many, many years. She was an active longtime member of the United Methodist Church in Pine Bush, and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Republican Club of Pine Bush, Pine Bush Seniors club, and a charter member of the Pine Bush Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Edith is survived by her daughter, Barbara Joan Bilyeu of Middletown, NY; sons: Richard A. Smith of Pine Bush, NY, George Gordon “Don” Smith, and wife, Anita, of Naples Florida, and Robert Francis Smith, and wife, Margurite, of Hastings, Florida; grandchildren: RJ Smith, Donna Macias, Patricia Avery, Cynthia Smith, Linda Quinn, Timothy Bilyeu, Toni Smith, Robert Bilyeu, Alexander Smith, and Robert Smith; great grandchildren: Rian Quinn, Sean Quinn, Meghan Quinn, Sabrina Macias, Brian Avery, Jason Macias, Christopher Avery, Melissa Avery, Emily Kingsbury, Meryl Smith, John Smith, Zachery Bilyeu, Ryan Bilyeu, Kaden Smith, Teegan Smith, Jonah Bilyeu, Coby Bilyeu and Preston Smith, Brandon, Ryan and Bridget Boniface; great-great grandchildren, Jace Macias and Charlotte Quinn; and nephew, William Siemerling. Edith is predeceased by her brother Earl “Buck” Siemerling, and his wife, Ella; son-in-law, Tim Bilyeu; daughter-in-law Mary Smith; and two grandsons Michael Stanley Smith and John Christopher Smith. The family would like to thank Braemar at Wallkill Senior living facility and Park Manor Nursing Home for all of there their hard work and compassion in providing Edith with care. In lieu of flowers, the family would like contributions to be made to Moutainview Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday June 3rd at DeWitt-Martinez Funeral and Cremation Services, 64 Center Street, Pine Bush, NY. A chapel service will be held at 10 a.m on Saturday June 4th at the funeral home with Pastor Robert Hewitt. Interment will follow at New Prospect Cemetery, Pine Bush.
