Edward Gooding

Edward Adolphus Gooding passed away on June 10th 2025. Edward A. Gooding was a devoted husband, brother, father, and grandfather to 2 fur babies. Edward A. Gooding was born on October 14th, 1953 to his beloved parents Hyacinth Payne & Arnold Greaves. Edward was the third born of his siblings. Edward was raised on the beautiful island of Barbados for most of his youth. When Edward was old enough. He traveled the world as a seaman for several years . This is where Edward transition from being an adolescent to adulthood. In 1979 decided to relocate to New York City to create a better quality of life for his family back on the island and with his love interest Grace. Grace and Edward were friends since they were six years of age. Nothing kept the two love birds apart. It was unconditional love that kept them together for over sixty years. Edward A. Gooding was a man of many talents. He was able to adapt to any work environment. Edward’s passion was construction. He would read book after book to enhance his skillset. His talents lead him to be a plumber, electrician, carpenter and more. If you needed something built from he was the person to call and ensured he provided quality service at every job. Edward Gooding was not a man of many words but he was a man of action. He was often misunderstood because of his morals and family values. He believed in keeping family together regardless of the circumstances. Edward Gooding never allowed anyone or anything to change his ideology. He believed in youth not only learning in the classroom but also engaging in trades. He believed in learning more than one skillset so you can turn a trade in to entrepreneurship opportunity. Edward was always willing to teach those that were willing to learn. In 2021 after the passing of his soulmate Edward A. Gooding co- founded GKBG Youth and Senior Empowerment Services LLC. Their key phrase was Life doesn’t end at retirement; it is the beginning of a new phase of life that should be spent with your loved ones or people that are dedicated to assisting others. Family is not always blood. GKBG create multi generational connections between youth and seniors, health education for seniors and youth, develop community gardens for healthy cooking, family outings, assist with senior skill development and more. The next phase was to transition what we have created here to their beloved island of Barbados.
