Marla Lurlene Archey-De Veaux

Marla L. “Bunny” Archey was born on August 2, 1967 to the late Mr. Fred Hodges and Ms. Marlene Archey in Brooklyn, New York. Marla was the youngest out of three children. Her nickname was Bunny. Bunny graduated from Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn, NY in June 1985. She worked for the New York City Police Department as a PAA for several years. She attended Borough of Manhattan Community College in Brooklyn, NY and graduated from Orange County Community College with an Associate degree in Applied Science in May 2003. She also worked as a Social Worker for the Department of Social Services in Orange County for several years. She later became a licensed realtor at Keller Williams Realty in Orange County and was a Mary Kay Cosmetics Representative. Bunny met a handsome young man named, Stanley Anthony De Veaux at Erasmus Hall High School in 1980. They got married on July 17, 1993 in Brooklyn, NY and this union produced five beautiful children: Marian “Muffin”, Evan, Davonne, Ashley and Brianna. Bunny enjoyed being a mother and loved cooking for her kids and spending time with them. Bunny and Stanley moved their family from Brooklyn, NY to Middletown, NY to give their family a more comfortable lifestyle. She enjoyed watching her kids grow and play in the backyard. Later in life, Bunny and Stanley were care givers to her mother until her passing. She also enjoyed being a grandmother to her two granddaughters named Giselle and Gianna. She loved listening to various types of music, dancing, and having fun going to restaurants and night clubs with her family and friends. Bunny and Stanley were married for 27 years. Years later Bunny became ill and Stanley took care of her until her passing. Bunny had an outstanding character and personality in which she loved to help people. She lended a listening ear to anyone who needed it. She had a wonderful smile that was infectious. She was a very loving and caring individual, and too, proud and very protective of her children with a great deal of love. Her husband and children were the love of her life. Just being around her made you feel welcomed. She wants everyone to celebrate her life and remember the good times you shared with her! Bunny is survived by her loving husband, Stanley; her adult children: Marian “Muffin”, Evan, Davonne, Ashley and Brianna; her granddaughters: Giselle and Gianna; her siblings: Marilyn “Penny” and Marc; her niece, Syvette; her daughter-in-law, Stephanie; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends. Marla affectionately known as Bunny will be missed by all!
