Ramon Gonzalez

Ramon Gonzalez, age 81, of Bronx, NY, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2024, surrounded by his beloved family. Ramon was born in Naguabo, Puerto Rico, to Juan Gonzalez and Juana Burgos. He grew up in Naguabo and moved to the Bronx, NY, in 1971 with his family in pursuit of work and a better life. Ramon was a foreman at Vee Gee Manufacturing, where he dedicated 40 years to making jewelry. Remarkably, he never missed a single day of work in those 40 years, believing that if he missed a day, his employees would not be able to earn money for their families. In 1968, Ramon married Carmen A. Gonzalez in the Bronx, and they spent 56 wonderful years together. He was known for his skill in fixing anything and was a cherished member of his church, Escuela de Consejo Moral in the Bronx, NY, since 1985. He served as Vice President of the Board of Directors from 1995 to 2023 and was a dedicated member of the Cuerpo de la Verbena. Ramon loved gardening, spending time with his church family, and attending services. His passion for jewelry making extended to teaching others the craft, which brought him immense joy. Ramon is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Carmen A. Gonzalez; his beloved sons, Jose Enrique Gonzalez and Raymond Anthony Gonzalez; and his cherished grandchildren, Xzavier Gonzalez and Julian Gonzalez. He is also survived by his brother, Josue Gonzalez (Florida), his sister, Maria Gonzalez (Bronx, NY), and his beloved godchildren: Fredlyn Pena Jr., Jessica Alejandro, Natalia Gonzalez, Nelson L. Massari, Illeana Raynor, Jessica Rosa and Sofia K. Benitez. He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan Gonzalez and Juana Burgos. A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Martinez Morse Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Services will take place on Friday September 20, 2024 at Escuela de Consejo Moral, 1045 Soundview Ave, Bronx, NY, at 10:00 AM, followed by burial at Hillside Cemetery, Middletown, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Ramon’s memory to his church. Checks for donation should be made to the Church of Moral Advice. For anyone planning to attend church services, It is kindly requested that females please utilize a skirt.
