Terry A Vetter

Terry Ann Vetter, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the family she loved so deeply on August 9, 2026. She was just 18 days shy of her 73rd birthday. Born on August 27, 1953, Terry was the kind of person whose heart always had room for one more. She was not only a loving mother to her own children, but a mother to anyone who walked through her door. Her home was a place where you were welcomed, cared for, fed, listened to, and loved. You didn't have to be family by blood to be family to Terry. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 41 years, Michael Vetter; her son Michael and his wife, Tammy; and her daughter and best friend, Lee-Ann, and her husband, Joseph. She also leaves behind Erica Wallace, whom she loved as one of her own. Her grandchildren and great-grandson were her world. She treasured Michael Vetter and Loretta, Ethan and Madison Vetter, Joseph Morales and Theresa, and her great-grandson, Soren Vetter. She is also survived by her sisters, Cathy Tyrrell and Carol Frustaci; her six beloved sisters-in-law, Kathy (George), Linda (Bill), Barbara (Joe), Susan (Brian), Patty (Andrea), and Peggy (Mike); along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Terry also leaves behind her beloved grand pup, Chewie, who held a very special place in her heart. Terry was predeceased by her parents, Geraldine and Harry Tyrrell; her brother, Harry Tyrrell; her mother- and father-in-law, Marilyn and Louis Vetter and her beloved grand pup, Pickles, whom she cherished and spent as much time with as she possibly could. Terry was a hardworking woman who spent many years at ShopRite of Inserra Supermarkets before retiring. Retirement didn't last long, however. Never one to sit still, she returned to work at Pine Bush High School until she finally retired for good. Terry loved to read, but more than anything, she loved her family. The greatest moments of her life were the simple ones spent together. She had a way of making everyone feel loved, welcomed, and like they belonged. For those who knew Terry, there will be an empty chair, a familiar voice that is suddenly missing, and countless memories that will bring both tears and smiles. Her greatest legacy will be the love she gave so freely and the family she held together with that love. She was our mother, our grandmother, our wife, our sister, our friend—and for so many, she was home. Mom, you were loved more than words could ever say. You were our safe place, our constant, and our heart. There will never be another you, and there will never be a day that we don't miss you. Until we meet again, Mom. We love you. Always. Their care will never be forgotten. A memorial service celebrating Terry's life will be held on August 27, 2026—her 73rd birthday—from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at DeWitt-Martinez Funeral Home, 64 Center Street Pine Bush, New York. Family and friends are invited to come together to remember Terry, share stories, and celebrate the beautiful life of a woman who gave so much love to so many. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be made in Terry's memory to Hudson Valley Hospice.
